This introductory session starts with firing pupils’ curiosity via a slow reveal in which pupils build a picture of her by means of a series of clues introduced in a structured way. Pupils then complete a jigsaw information run in which they find answers to specific broader questions about the reasons for her fame before consolidating this by actively viewing a short video excerpt.

Step 1
Explain that the new focus is on a very famous woman, but why is she so famous? Pupils are introduced via the KQ1 PowerPoint to a series of animated clues which become increasingly revealing. What can the children work out from the clues? At this stage we
