In addition to reading the OFSTED Lead Inspectors’ reports which are available online one of the ways of getting a sense of how your school’s provision for history matches others’, is to read the latest Historical Association survey. Published last week and available in full to members of the HA, it summarises the feedback received from a questionnaire that over 500 primary schools replied to.   This survey is accrued out every two years, so it is interesting to spot any trends as well as taking a snap shot. As you’d expect with any historian’s sources we need to be sure of the context. The sample is effectively only 3% of schools and they are all accessed the survey on the HA’s website.
