Karl is in Y5 and has been taught in a school where standards are high but progress is slightly below national expectations for the cohort. It appears as if Karl had second wind, maybe prompted by the teacher, to add to his answer to Q1 but this is all his own work, done under test conditions.
Question 1
Karl starts with a clear statement showing what was typical of most Ancient Greek women, even comparing to Sparta to emphasise the difference. It’s not nuanced though and makes no distinction between women from different levels of society. There is some useful detail about stages girls went through in their progress to adult life, again with helpful comparisons with Sparta.
Where Karl gets into his stride is in the second paragraph showing that he DOES know about the role of slaves and goes on to show good knowledge of women’s status, which is clearly above average.
